With the national unemployment rate at an all-time high, and the overall economic worry we are all faced with, many families have found themselves in major financial distress. Many hard working residents in our community are finding it increasingly more difficult to make ends meet. On a case by case basis, Riverbend Family Ministries also helps families with financial assistance (critical utilities and rent) when funds are available.
After the necessary expenses of keeping our facility open (i.e. rent, utilities) all of our funds are used toward programs, services, and ministry. We have no paid employees at Riverbend Family Ministries. Instead, Riverbend Family Ministries as fully staffed by a group of gifted volunteers, who are led to give of themselves for the further growth of this ministry. From the time the doors opened in August of 2007 Riverbend Family Ministries has been met with much encouragement and support from local businesses, churches and individuals who share a common vision to better our community.
If you had the opportunity to speak to the individuals who walk through our doors, I think they would tell you, there is just something special about this place. The compassion, guidance and understanding people find there is precious and unique. Riverbend Family Ministries is truly a safe harbor for the wounded and a beacon of light for the hopeless.
However, our funds are very low. We need your help. In light of the recent Illinois budget cuts to no-profit organizations; we are all the more dependent upon those who have a heart for our cause and the resources to further it.
We at Riverbend Family Ministries, would like to thank you again for considering us.
